I'm a huge fan of the PoP series. I liked the first game immensely, and I think I liked the second one more than most people. Warrior Within was darker and bloodier, but it showed an arc to the Prince's character: he'd started out young and naive (like we all do), and changed as he progressed through life. The second game showcased that well. I'll admit, I got tired of Godsmack, too, though.
After having played the third PoP installment, I've got to point out that the graphics are sub-par. It's true, the level of detail in the second PoP was amazing, everything looked polished and realistic. The graphics in the thrid game, however look completely half-assed. Don't get me wrong, it's a great looking game, but not as much as the second PoP.
Second, the camera is all kinds of messed up. The game's options menu gives you a choice between an inverted or normal free-look view (when you're looking out of the prince's head) but forces you to use a standard (non-inverted) camera angle throughout the rest of the game. In the words of the immortal Seinfeld, "What's the deal?"
Third, I miss the overhead, or landscape view. Yeah, I know, it's there in the third game but only in specific shots, and you can use it only when prompted with an all-too-obvious eye icon. which takes all the fun and sense of discovery out of using the angle.
That being said, it's a great game, the degree of difficulty has been seriously amped up, though, which could be good and bad.
Speed kills are dope, I think we can all agree on that one.
In sum, PoP III is a good game, I just don't think it lived up to the series.
