Great Remake of an Old-School Classic

I wish I was able to finish this game. I got the Red-Ring of Death the day I made this purchase. I got up to level 5 though, so I have a good idea about how I felt about the game. In a nutshell, the game was a blast. Downside is the controls are quite jerky, but that just adds to the difficulty of the game. If it ran smoother, the game might have been too easy. They did a wonderful job of re-doing the graphics, making it easier on the eyes while maintaining the basic gameplay from the original.

The game didn't seem too long, but with deeper game options, and achievement points, the game should offer a decent amount of replay value for a XBOX Live Arcade game. I know a lot of people will look at my rating for this game, and think I was bashing it. Not true. I think a 5 and higher is a good game, a game that can be relatively enjoyed. While anything less than a 5 is teetering on being a waste of time or just not enjoyable. Remember, it gets knocked on graphics and gameplay because compared to today's games, this game isn't even close. That's not important, what's important is the reviewer's tilt, and idea of value. For an arcade game, and playing options it offers, I think the value deserves an 8. So it's a good buy. My tilt, well I was really enjoying the game. Not thouroughly addicted, but having a lot of fun. So it got a 7 in that department. For an old-school game, that's impressive in my book! Especially for only $10 or 800 MP.
