Prince of Persia was one of those games that I never got around to playing. I never played the ones from the last generation of game consoles, but I heard they were pretty good. When this new Prince of Persia came out with the new looking graphics and some new characters, thought I might have to try this game. Well I got the game and played through it. This game really surprised me. It was a mix between a plat former and a one on one fight game, were you had to be quick at pressing buttons to defeat your enemy. Is this new Prince of Persia worth your time? Well you will find out soon.

You start out by finding this girl named Elika. You and her run to this temple where her farther unleashes this evil being that curses the land. You and Elika have to go to these different lands and cure them from the darkness.

The game play in Prince of Persia is pretty simple. You run, jump, and climb your way through a bunch of crazy looking levels. This can be fun, but it is pretty forgiving. Jumps are lined up for you and every time you die, Elika saves you so there is no need for checkpoints. There is some challenge to this, because, if you mess up on a long plat forming section, you have to start all over again. But over all the game is pretty easy.

The combat side to Prince of Persia is easy to learn, but hard to master. You strafe around your enemies waiting for the perfect time to strike. It can be fun and challenging, but it isn't anything new, and it can get boring after awhile. You switch between two weapons, which are a sword and gauntlet. You can also use Elika to help you fight.

Graphically Prince of Persia is a pretty nice looking game. The game is cell shaded, but everything has textures. The environments look really good and so do the character models. This is a very polished game.

The sound in this game is pretty good. The music sounds good and the voice acting is really good. Both characters in this game have funny personalities, and the voice acting does a lot to help that out.

Prince of Persia does have some problems in it. For one, this game is very short, and there is little reason to play through it again. It will only take the average gamer about 8-10 hours to complete this game. Also, the game does not progress much from the start to finish. You will be jumping and climbing for the entire game, and it never feels like it gets any more challenging. The game really doesn't progress that mush, but it is still a fun game.

Overall, Prince of Persia is a great game that has some good fun to offer. If you like plat formers, then you should give this game a try, but don't expect a long game with tons to do.
