GameSpot gives you a peek at the graphical differences between three of the platforms for Portal 2.
All these versions look beautiful to me. My PC makes renders the game terribly. :[ Such a good game though. :3
Wow.All kinds of junk that is TOTALLY useless.Battling over graphics is stupid enough, but then battling over such minute details? Can't you just be happy you have a fantastic game with good graphics?
FACT FACT FACT FACT FACT did you know that portal 2 which has about 5-6 characters has 13000 lines of dialogue?in another case , MASS EFFECT 2 with over 540 characters has only about 25000 lines of dialogue? so not even x2?
@supersackboy23 i say so.though you got a lot of thumbs down but playing with a controller is a lot easier (for me at least). also why do gamespot do this video?it's not like your looking for extreme levels of graphics in a puzzle/thinking game , now are you?
party chat with friends and better online over minor graphical sharpness in 1 game anytime lol and the free pc version on ps3 to make the game sell more on ps3 coz on xbox its gonna sell like hotcakes without it
Who really cares....When you're playing the game it doesn't really matter how the shadowing of a tree looks... I mean seriously.
this guy is flat out stupid the 360s shadows are not better. he really must think shadows in the real world appear pitch black. the really isnt better graphics because it is caused by missing global illumination.
I don't know what is wrong with Gamespots computer, my toilet has shadows, just had a look. Doesn't matter at all wich platform you play it on anyways, it's a great game regardless.
wow dose it matter i mean ffs its what the player likes.i my self am a pc gamer my friend is a 360 gamer and my othere friend is a ps3 gamer and we never fight whos better.WE are all gamers no matter what system we play on and i think thats what most people forget.
Anyways, i can't even imagine myself playing Portal 2 on a console, I played the first one on console and the second was ment to be played on console too.
Is it really necessary to compare each version to another? It only feeds the fanboyic fires. I've got the X360 version (since that's the only console I have) and I enjoyed it tremendously! Whatever version you'll get, pride yourself with the fact you played a wonderful game. The experience is the same.
Sure the PC graphics are probably a little better, but honestly, I'd rather sit on on the couch and play with a controller. It's not that hard.
@J4m3sR4n0r72 and @snake_6483 The accompanying article says up front that graphics aren't the reason to play Portal 2. They just think the comparison is interesting because it's an unusual situation. The narrator needs to get the marbles out of his mouth.
Do the graphics really matter much in portal 2? I mean yeah there are moments where the game can look good, but it is running on a 6+ year old engine. There are many games that look eons more advanced than this. I do have to say though, most games don't have as many moving object as this does and can keep the smooth gameplay, Portal 2 is awesome, but is nothing I would want to show off for its looks. That still goes to the first Crysis and Metroo 2033
That's really bizarre how the Xbox gets shadows that are even better than a high-end PC. How strange.
In my honest personal opinion, I don't feel that many people are going to choose which platform to play Portal 2 on due to which platform has the best graphics. That's just MY opinion.
He hopes that will help us decide what platform to play on. Does he? Really? Because playing Portal with a PS3 or Xbox controller is better than a mouse and keyboard right? If I had to play Portal - or any FPS for that matter - with a console controller I'd give up gaming altogether and pick up crocheting. Or something. Playing a FPS game with a console controller is like peeling a banana with your feets. It's doable but extremely frustrating.
um more canned shadows doesnt make it better, real-time high res shadows do however. Lets just face it, pc looks way better than ps3 which looks quite a bit better than 360.
"...Must bow down to the mighty PC." Now, I could care less on the topic of '"which gaming system is the best?" (I mean, they're all pretty awesome in their own way), however, that line makes me feel proud to a PC gamer. I don't know why, though, just does. :P Anyway, can't wait to pick up my copy of Portal 2. Heard it's amazing!
@Lukemaneiro I'm sorta confused maybe you can clarify for me will the PS3 be getting the same mod support as the PC version since it is Steam compatible? I just really want to know because I think mods would be pretty cool.
2 games for the price of one. are you guys forgetting its the same game. yeah if it was totaly different then it would be great but it isnt. whats the point. realy?
@Aristowi No, most console games run at 30 frames, Some do 60 but i believe the majority do 30. Pc, all do 60 well depending on your hardware.
Does the game run at 60 fps on consoles? because if so i might consider getting the PS3 version, if not, I will get it for PC.
