I played the first Portal, like most people, as part of the Orange Box collection and had no idea what it was. Brilliant, that's what it was. Fun, challenging and kept me thinking. It was missing a solid storyline and really any drive to complete it. Levels were just puzzles, not really leading anywhere after you've completed them. Portal 2 now comes out and gives us all that. An interesting and humorous storyline and great development throughout the levels. Multiplayer is a great addition - there aren't nearly enough decent multiplayer game out there at the moment that you can sit down with a friend and play. Everything is online and quite honestly only multiplayer when in a single player environment. Great game, totally recommend it. For you achievement hounds like me, it's also quite a hoot! Did I really just say hoot? Oh dear lord...
