- The Bottom Line:
- "Worth playing"
This will probably be short and not looked at at all but that is fine. I will probably say some things that may spoil some parts in the game so please if you have not played it and do not want to hear any spoilers, please do not read this.
I found Portal 2 to be mildly entertaining from the funny dialogue to the, some how, entertainment I get from shooting a portal directly up and down and fall for a couple minutes. I have yet to try the multi-player because PSN is down and my friends are not gamers so that puts me at a loss, though I do hear it is quite good so that is a relief.
The story is good. Glados is Glados and Chell is Chell with some good suprising moments in there but the addition of Wheatly was good but I think they over did him a little. He was a bumbling idiot who some how got things done, but they over sold him. I thought a couple chambers before you get to Glados that he would probably turn on you at some point because they made him seem so helpful and acted like he was your friend so much that you got past the "This guy is a really good friend" to the "Well I can tell how this game is going to go" phase pretty quickly.
The gameplay was the same with a few additions. Your main item is still the portal gun. There is now light bridges, three types of gel (a gel that makes you run fast, one that bounces you and one that allows you to make portals on it). I think the only thing they really could have done to make the gameplay a bit better was to tweak the jumping a bit more. Make you jump a little higher cause sometimes it would have been nice to jump on top of a box that I was going to let drop on a switch and not have to come back and redo it because I got it a little off.
The graphics were good. I mean they were not something you would stare at and be this is amazing, they were more the kind of graphics that make you more focused on gameplay.
All in all I say it was worth the $44 I spent on it and would recommend you to play it. Oh and one last thing, I heard that a lot of people on twitter were saying that the ending was the best ending ever and stuff like that. It was not even close to it. It was sort of cool but not anything to be amazed at. Well that is what I think of the game.

In this video, I present a thesis on the ending to Portal 2 that is an alternate interpretation of the ending than the straightforward, face-value interpretation. Obviously, spoilers abound.Posted May 9, 2011
