Polarium Advance is one of those games that are not well known but they are like a pearl closed in the shell.
- selection inverts a square's colors
- make every horizontal line in squares of one color
- you can go through you selection
Those simple rules make the game targeted to everyone.
Polarium offers 365 or 366 puzzles (depending on starting date). It means that if you will solve one puzzle per day - main game will take you a whole.... YEAR!!! :) But it's not that right :) Some puzzles need 1-2 minutes to get the clue. But some of them need much more time. After clearing a stage it appears with "condition" to beat again - number of steps and begin/end marker. So it has 366*2 puzzles wich gives enormous number of 732 puzzles :)
Overall - gameplay is very enjoyable. Calm music makes good relaxing atmosphere. Some stages have different tracks and backgrounds, therefore your eyes and ears won't be bored :) One more thing - this game has a great interface - smooth animations, typical console sounds.. everything you need from the audiovisuals.
Polarium Advance offers different modes: Daily (main 365/366 puzzles), time attack - very hardcore brainstorm :) and custom. Custom game is very interesting because it gives you an opportunity to create your own stage and share it with friends, or play your friend's stages. Custom game uses a password feature, and it accepts passwords from POLARIUM DS!!! So it's kind of fresh feeling about old GBA system :)
In conclusion - Polarium advance is a great, solid puzzle game. It offers many hours of gameplay in good atmosphere, and it has some small "multiplayer" feature with stages sharing.
You can always return back to try solve one of 366 puzzles you didn't make in the past... :)
