A trailer for Nintendo 3DS' Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.Posted Jan 8, 2013 | 1:32 | 21,938 Views

Nintendo has officially announced Pokémon X and Y, the first 3DS entries in the series.
Cant wait for Pokemon X & Y
I just brought a Pikachu Limited Edition 3DS XL to play it on :D
i never played it but Pokémon as my fav when i was a kid looooooooooooooove may by the game
I really hope there's some new gameplay mechanics. I'll still buy the game just because, but I've been wishing for years that there'd be some new gameplay mechanics.
i hate that they made a remake of red, green, gold and silver, and i have yet to see the best be remade, Pokemon Yellow. I Loved Having my pikachu walking around behind me. just like the original story line cause pikachu was never in the pokeball. Remake a 3d Pokemon Yellow that we can travel to other regions. -Just a Gamer's Suggestion. :)
@GamerSuggestion Y'know the remake of pokemon gold/silver do have the pokemon following you outside of the pokeball and can be any pokemon, not just pikachu, and you can also travel to other regions, like kanto
@GamerSuggestion Not likely to happen as Nintendo only remakes the generations not the special edition games from said generation.
It's about time. The lineup for the 3DS has resulted in mine being sat on my desk unused for nearly a year. This changes that.
I'll most definatly be buying a 3DS just to get this game! I've never missed a new Pokemon game launch since the Red and Blue days!
So let me get this straight: there are actually people complaining? I guess there had to be, yet it's most likely the same people who raged when Black and White was released, finding it insulting that they had still not improved upon graphics.
Being 20 years old, i remember in the 00's when i played Red and Blue, and when Gold and Silver released, my interrest peaked! I would always go to my friends house to play Pokémon Stadium, and during the GameCube era, i loved Pokémon Colesseum, but that was my last Pokémon game i truly enjoyed - why? Because there was no innovation, just a bunch of new Pokémon and new regions, and that was fine for the new audience that it pulled in, but i lost interrest.
During all these years with the franchise, i had one simple wish: Pokémon Stadiums battlesystem, multiplayer feel, and Colesseums running around. I knew i wasn't the only one, basically every kid who played the franchise dreamt of the coming perspective, being tired of bird's eye view and 2D sprites.
10 years after Gold (which i spent a good 260 hours on and to this day have my save file kept!) they are finally releasing the one thing TRUE fans of this franchise wanted. Do not tell me i don't know what i'm talking about, i remember my first card being a Squirtle, i remember how much it ment to me getting the Dragonite in Gold, how damn proud i was, that nobody could beat me at my school, it's been years since i played the games, yet i still remember which attack is super effective, i even remember most of the original Pokémons names (that is the 150 originals) - the impact this franchise had on 90's kids is crazy!
When you complain and call the franchise stupid or a copy/paste experience like CoD you're mistaking. Pokémon has a lot of tactical mechanics, and i can't for one be more excited that i shall be playing online against others! It's not a damn copy/paste experience when they give you 100+ new Pokémons each time, and a new region to explore! There are multiple sorts of Pokémon games, but these are the original, the ones that started it, you don't have to buy it, or love it, but it's a solid franchise! I'll be buying a 3DS just for this.
@DaneGamer glad to see there's somebody else out there who can at least appreciate the jump in graphics. The tactical depth has always been the same but you have to admit that it's always been made deeper with each installment. I had stopped after gold and silver but even then I was pretty happy with how the series had progressed.
When you think about it pokemon is the only game that will always allow you to have fun and not be trolled by ppl threw some sort of multi player and they are still growing in popularity some may complain about it now, but i know for sure that it will be bought by a lot of people me included
AAARRGGGG!!! stop makeing f****** pokemon how do you kill off bleach and S*** and keep this garbage... after D/P they should have stopped and then remade the old ones with 3D graphics or something i used to love this game.. i stll charish my soul silver i wish it was 3D but all this new crap makes me hate pokemon now.. i hope sales completely drop and no one buys this garbage and it causes nintendo to waste billions..(which will probably never happen cuz this is a strictly babys only game and theres a new baby born every day.. especially in japan..)
@TheWeaper Jeeze, you sound like a 10 year old. A baby game? Really. I haven't heard criticism like that since elementary school. Your Japan comment is strange. There are less babies born in Japan than in almost any other developed country, so I don't even know what you're saying there.
This game looks like a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to getting it.
I realize the dynamics of entropy and nostalgia but I still have pangs of sorrow to see the 2D megaverse get swallowed up by the disappointing 3D rendering of a world that is best illustrated in my imagination...Besides, invisible walls are worse and more insulting than plausible 2D barriers...
so when activision milks cod all of you cry and scream but when Nintendo milks pokemon time after time with exact same game it's ok
I wanted to get into Pokémon, I really did, but I just can't be bothered immersing myself in a world where my goal is to trap all stupid million three hundred and tedious seven thousand recycle hundred and fifty stale inanimate objects with faces drawn on them inside balls so I can fight them against other chair/lamp/rock/tree lookalikes so I figure out that dark granite fire wind types are effective against crystal wood ice electric types and save the world 200 agonising hours later with this knowledge.
"Breathtaking" seems a rather poor choice of adjective. I mean, yes, it's 3d now, but come on.... Use strong adjectives sparingly, so that when you finally do come on something that really is superior, you will have a suitable word to describe it.
@MrNWatson But that word has been a hallmark of marketing geniuses since the dawn of time! I suppose though, they could replace it with "Discover a SUB PAR PS2 style 3d world!" to really hook the kids, right?
Just wait until they release "Pokémon Z", like happened to Ruby/Sapphire, Gold/Silver and Diamond/Pearl.
@rushiosan Most generation of Pokemon had its own special edition. There are cases that didn't though, the remakes fire red/ leaf green and soul silver/ heart gold. red & blue had yellow, gold & silver had crystal, ruby and sapphire had emerald (my personal fave as I think the starters are the best since the first gen. plus new gba graphics/ abilities), diamond and pearl had platinum. Black and white didn't have a special edition but instead have direct squeals with B2 & W2.
I finally have a reason to buy a 3DS. But I still think a full 3D open world game for the WiiU would be a much better idea. Too bad they already said Pokemon will stay true to the "Pocket Monsters" ideal.
Just can't understand why Pikachu says "Vita, Vita" when the game is for DS... :)
I don't care about the graphics. Pokemon were never about the graphics but the gameplay.
I did expect tho a remake of Ruby and Sapphire. Dunno if this gonna make me buy a 3DS.
We'll wait and see I guess.
Turn-based battle system is a huge success. You can´t deny that. What did you expect??? A Devil May Cry battle system?? Lol , come on!
So what? If you don't like the game then don't even post let alone buy it. There are plenty of of other games that you can play ya know like Call Of Duty for instance!
@chronox44 Yes, because Nintendo is going to completely change the core gameplay of one of their highest selling series when it's still going strong. Seriously?
@Frankenstrat247 @chronox44 Yep , actually the gameplay is awesome , the boring part is the graphics.
They could have done with Super Mario Galaxy graphics , that would be awesome.
At least it's a step forward on the series. I just don't know why they took time to make a sequel to black/white. When this game is released I'll have a reason to buy the 3DS, up until now I have none.
Bah... i thought it would be something better..
If only NINTENDO was smart enough they would sell WII U like water. Why don't make a Pokemon Blue/Red/Yellow for Wii U with REAL 3D open world ? I have absolutely no plan on buying a Wii U , but me and a lot of people would definitely get one if Nintendo was a bit smarter...
