It's time for the Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness Review! For the Gamecube.

This game is the sequal to Pokemon Colosseum, which I enjoyed. So when I saw this game, I picked it up right away!

This game takes place in the same region as the previous game. However, there are new places to go to.

The story is about how Cipher has returned to complete their goal- world domination. Only this time they created Shadow Lugia, aka XD001, which is virtually immune to being purified.

You play as a different character this time. Instead of playing as a rogue Team Snagem member, you play as a regular person. He has a Snag Machine developed by scientists which lets him steal Shadow Pokemon, and it comes with an Aura Reader which lets him distinguish Shadow Pokemon. The Shadow Pokemon had their hearts artificially closed and are not afraid to attack trainers. They fight the same way they did before except now they have more moves to use. All Shadow Moves are super effective against all other types. They can't level up. To catch them you have to weaken them and throw Poke Balls. You can also paralyze or inflict a status condition. But that's talking too much.

Instead of starting out with Espeon and Umbreon, you have a Level 10 Eevee.

The region is the same but there are new areas to go to. So it's not the same as before. You can also catch wild Pokemon in Poke Spots, but there isn't much variety there. Also, the fact that you can only catch certain Pokemon feels limited. It would be cool if it played like the handheld games, where there was grass, or water, or something like that.

The graphics have been recycled from the previous game. They're okay.

The controls work fine, but that's not really saying much for this game. Move with the analog stick and press A to check.

I do wanna applaud the publishers for allowing you to save whenever you want. In the previous game, you had to find a PC and save there. That sucked because you might forget what you were doing. Also, it took a long time to get to a PC sometimes. But in this game you just gotta press Start and press the save button!

If you noticed on top I said this game is underappreciated. Well it is, at least by Gamespot. This game is pretty fun to play! Also, the music is the best music I have heard in a Pokemon game. Well actually I'm talking about one song in particular. The song when you're battling Miror B. I do have to say the song before was better. This game also gave us the best villian in the Pokemon series Miror. B. But enough about him.....

Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness is a great game. I don't see why people don't like this game! If I did have to find downsides, I would have to say that you can only catch certain Pokemon, and you are very limited to what you catch in Poke Spots.

This game gets a 9 out of 10 with the title of Superb!
