Gameplay - Like all Pokemon games, the gameplay consists of the following: start your adventure as a young kid, pick a starter Pokemon, get 8 gym badges, stop an evil organization, catch Pokemon along the way, encounter the "version mascot" Pokemon, and beat the elite four. This is pretty much the basics of what you will do as a trainer in a Pokemon world. Among doing the follow I listed you will also do battling, either singles or doubles, turn based style. The battling pretty much ties everything together as it is how you get gym badges, beat the evil organization and elite four, and catch Pokemon. Despite its gameplay formula deing similar to past pokemon games; the inclusion of new moves, new Pokemon, and new abilities makes it feel a bit fresh. The wi-fi mode is also great as it allows you to trade and battle with others around the world.

Graphics - Graphics are pretty simple. Charcaters look like marshmallows and Pokemon are still sprites. But, several small things were added to inhance graphics. This includes a Pokemon that follows you, leaves, wind, and the graphics overall just look more polished.

Sound - The sound is great. Each route and town has a musical theme to them that makes each town/route feel different from the next. Battle music, evolution music, and building music is also great. I also can't forget the surf and bike music. Pretty much all of the music in the game is good, and there is even a devise that lets you hear the tunes like they were in the original Pokemon Silver. The only thing holding the sound down is the Pokemon Screeches.

Replay Value - This game will last you a really long time. If all you care about is beating the game then it is around 15-20 hours. If you play online, play the pokeathlon, try to catch all the Pokemon, play the battle frontier, and play the safari zone then this game will last you a good 100 hours +.

How It Works With Pack-In Item - The Pokewalker is great. It counts your steps pretty accurately and it rewards you for excercising. The Pokewalker allows you to level up a Pokemon, get items, and catch other Pokemon. You can also connect with other Pokewalkers to get extra items. You can then trade the Pokemon you caught and items you got back to SoulSilver. There is also an option that allows you to adjust sound and shading so it is more convenient for each person. The only flaw is that only one Pokemon can be on it at a time and the Pokemon only levels up one level per time on the Pokewalker.

Overall - An awesome game. It is fun, long lasting, and has a bunch of creatures to battle and catch.
