Substitute or Double Team?

This is for my shuckle. It currently knows sandstorm, toxic, rest, and protect. I was thinking of replacing sandstorm with either sub or double team. This is not for online use though I will be battling a friend. We don't ev train. Thanks

Go with which one you want. Double team will increase your evade so you have more time for Toxic to work, Substitute will protect you from Status effects. However, which one you go for, I would replace Protect instead of Sandstorm.

Protect is pretty useless, but Sandstorm would wear your opponent down (unless they have a Steel, Ground, or a pokemon with Sand Veil.)

Well sandstorm just seems so incredibly weak. I don't think protect is useless because let's say first turn I use toxic and get hit with an attack. Next turn I could use protect and not get any damage while my opponent gets hurt and toxic increases. Plus I will be gaining health from leftovers. I still think double team would be better choice I'm afraid my HP is just too low for substitute

dont double team since its banned in competitive battles and if ingame why r u even using shuckle then?

Double Team, along with Minimize and any other Evasion raising moves I may be forgetting, are cheap and lame. Substitute, on the other hand, is totally not cheap and has the benefit of providing guaranteed protection and blocking annoying things like Leech Seed.

I vote Substitute.
