Pokemon Red Version Review

Pokemon Red & Blue started the whole pokemon craze which by the way is still in full swing. I just finished playing Red for the first time in years and it's as good as ever.

Story: Pokemon is about a trainer (you) that sets out to be the best pokemon master there is. Story is very well written and there are alot of things to collect and find. 10

Graphics: Well there as good as you'll see on the game boy. 10

Sound: Music is very addictive and dosen't piss you off after a while. 9.5

Gameplay: You can have up to 6 pokemon in your party at a time. When a battle starts the first pokemon you have in your party starts for you. At this point you have four options. 1.Fight 2.Items. 3.Switch 4.Run. If you select fight you then are shown a list of up to 4 different moves which can either attack an enemy, make your abilities higher or many other things. This system is very good and for some may get boring after playing for a while but if you try different moves it can still remain fresh. 10

Lasting Appeal: Pokemon Red is extremely replayable with the main draw being to collect all 151 pokemon and get them to level 100. This aspect is extremely difficult since some pokemon only evolve through trades and with certain stones. 10

Overall: You really shouldn't miss this classic and the one which started it all. It will literally provide you with over 100 hours of play or more and is extremely satisifing to finish completely. Simply put you will find something to love about pokemon. 10
