Can the Pokemon games get any better than this?

User Rating: 10 | Pocket Monsters Platina DS
Highs: Great graphics, exploring is still a ton of fun, cool legendaries, superb gameplay, tons of rewards, so much to do, great story, just tons of fun to play.

Lows: Once you have beaten the game, you won't wanna start over since you've come so far, could have been longer.

Verdict: The Pokemon franchise is at it's prime.

Since 1998, Nintendo has given us so many great entries in the Pokemon series, from Red, Blue & Yellow, to Gold & Silver, to FireRed and LeafGreen, and Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald, it's just very hard to put these games down after you start playing them. Then in 2009, Nintendo gave us yet another entry that won't want to make us stop playing, and that was Pokemon Platinum Version for the DS, marking an end to Pokemon's 4th Generation of games. In Platinum, you are a Pokemon trainer and your goal is to raise the toughest Pokemon to go up against the best of the best in order to be named the greatest trainer ever, and to stop the evil Team Galactic from doing their evil deeds of using legendary Pokemon for conducting experiments. Playing Platinum is similar to past entries so series veterans should have no problems getting used to this game. You still start off with one Pokemon, then as you get further into the game, you raise more in order for you to be a force to be reckoned with. There are many towns to explore where you can visit Pokemon centers to restore your Pokemons' health, and Pokemarts where you can buy potions, poke balls and more, and some of these towns have Pokemon gyms where you have to beat the Gym leader in order to get a gym badge then when you get all 8 you can go to the Pokemon League to take on the Elite Four and the Pokemon Champ. There are also lots of side quests like the Battle Frontier, and completing your own villa on a private island(how cool is that?), so this game will keep you pretty busy. This is a huge game. There are only minor problems with Platinum and they are the game's length and that once you've beaten the game you won't want to start over since you've done so much. Overall, Pokemon Platinum Version is the finest Pokemon adventure yet that it is just so epic and amazing that once you do stop playing, you'll realize that it's already tomorrow morning.
