Pokèmon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky - Worth it By Far!

User Rating: 8.5 | Pokemon Fushigi no Dungeon: Sora no Tankentai DS
This game is actually one of my favorite all-time games. It is definitely (in my humble opinion) the best game in the Pokèmon series and has a storyline unlike many games that are released nowadays. The game starts out by making you answer on a personality quiz which then determines what Pokèmon you will become. You then wake up as that Pokèmon at a beach and soon meet your futuristic teammate that will be your partner and best friend throughout the game. You will go through mystery dungeons where the goal is to reach the end of the dungeon by going up or down stairs. On the floor you are on there will be enemies moving at the same pace and time as you, making it look like a weird form of chess. Luck is involved in the process (how many Pokèmon appear at the same time, which Pokèmon, etc.), meaning you have to have some skills to get out of a really sucky situation.

The music in this game is very varying, but on a scale from 1 to 10 I would probably give it a 7.9. At some points it can be annoying and even boring, while it can be truly magnificent, amazing and inspiring in other places. In those places I really have goose bumps because it is so incredibly good and touching at the same time.

I would say that the game starts out in an okay way, not something to brag about, but it's worth the wait. The conversations are slightly childish, yet charming at the same time. Although this game could have brought more challenge and a higher difficulty level, the fantastic storyline makes up for it big time. It is truly one of the best stories I have ever witnessed in a game, and yes, I was close to crying at some points in the game. I have also found myself thinking about the characters and story long after finishing the game.

As a conclusion, I want to strongly recommend everyone who has not played this game to play it, whether you are already a fan of Pokèmon or not. Don't let yourself be fooled by the not-so-good start, have patience and wait for the good parts to come. Because believe me, it is truly worth it when you get there! :)
