This game is just perfect! It has everything from the classic Gold Version but 100 times BETTER!
I can remember back then when I was problably 12 or 13 Pokemon Gold & Silver hit the Gameboy Color during the year 2000. I remember that Gold version was my MOST favorite game during that time! I can also remember all the new Johto Pokemon I saw that excited me! Ho-oh & Lugia in particular had to be the MOST RECONIZED legendarys that were ever created! I'm still a Ho-ho fan but really it doesn't matter to me because both I think are equally as awsome. But! Getting to the release of Heart Gold & Soul Silver, I didn't think that there would ever be a remake of Gold & Silver until that one day that I checked Serebii.net. I fliped when I saw that they were in development on the remakes! After so many YEARS the series FINALLY gets a makeover! And a well deserved makeover at that! Anyhow, on with the review!
Storyline: If you've already played the classic Gold & Silver games then this is pretty much same except there are add ins, tweaks, exstended plot, and 4th Gen Pokemon allowed! (Yuck on most 'em) Team Rocket is back of course but better than ever! Don't forget the legendary beasts & the Famous Ho-oh & Soul Dew Lugia. It's all the same really but 100 TIMES BETTER!
Gameplay: Just like you would remember! You start off in a tiny town, you get shoved by some kid, you're given your starter, and off you go on your grand adventure! For anyone that does not know what a Pokemon game is then what better version to start you off like Heart Gold & Soul Silver!!! I'll leave that up to you thinko!
Graphics: Diamond, Pearl, & Platinum really gave these 2 super star games something and that is top notch gameplay, the 4th Gen, GTS, and Graphics! I personally think that Heart Gold & Soul Silver has the better graphics, and WAY BETTER looking Sprites! All the environments are lush and polished & very colorful! Your Pokemon even follow you! EVERY SINGLE ONE! I fell in love with this game instantly! Thank Yellow version for that! You also have the option to put 1 of your favorite Pokemon in the Poke Walker too. So ether way, your pokemon will always be with you! And lastly, this game has kick-ass music! ENJOY!
Value: Oh YES! This game has value. And if you pre-ordered one of them like me you got ether Ho-oh or Lugia figurines. Some nerds might not open theres but I will proudly display mine on top the TV or widow seal for everyone to admire! I am so glad that I did not purchase Platinum because I got Giratina's Orgin Form all thanks to my Hall Of Orgin Arceus! Sure I played the fake (Action Replayed) Azure Flute but I tricked that uber out and caught him! So I guess he is LEGIT then. I believe I made the right choice on waiting patiently for these games unlike some people who rather buy not 1 but BOTH Japanese versions knowing they cannot understand, or read it. How does it feel to waste your money??? But anyway, yes it has value and don't forget to take your Pokewalker with you on those long walks. It will serve your pokemon well!
Overall: With all the new added features thanks to the 4th Gen & previous versions, Pokemon Heart Gold & Soul Silver really become the top notch games of the series! Both of these games are loaded with all the fun you would expect from the Pokemon series. I think the Poke Walker was a very good idea and another taste of what is yet come in Pokemon series! Some people say the series should have ended after Gold & Silver. No, It will continue! I hope that they really blow me away with the 5th generation! It's much too soon to call it quits with all money they will rake in with these 2 remakes! And I know the majority of people who say that already got these games. Who are they trying to fool really? This game is just perfect! It has everything from the classic Gold Version but 100 times BETTER!
