Pokemon Yellow is every bit of a classic as Pokemon Red or Blue, which is great, but somehow that is also bad.

Pokemon Yellow is a RPG game for the Nintendo Game Boy. It is the sequel/ advancement of Pokemon Red or Blue.

If you have played Pokemon Diamond or Pearl, then Pokemon Yellow is going to feel much different. It is many steps behind from today's Pokemon standards. But I recommend you do play this, because it simply possesses a charm no modern day Pokemon game can match.

As all Pokemon games, the story follows your character becoming a Pokemon trainer, where he must catch these creatures with intense power and battle with them againest other trainers, and walk across the land, to battle againest the 8 gym leaders.

The main goal of the Pokemon games is to keep advancing to the point where you must battle againest the all time Pokemon Champion, and earn the title of the best Pokemon trainer ever.

This is not easy, and it is not quick. The game will take a while to beat, which is good; it should keep you busy.

Pokemon Yellow is one of the first great RPG's, and this applies especially to the Graphics. The graphics should be satisfying, especially for the standards back in 1999. Although if you know anything about the original Pokemon games, there can be a lot of glitches.

While you're out on your adventure, so is your rival, who always seems to be two steps ahead of you. Throughout the game, he will likely be the strongest trainer you will encounter, as his Pokemon will keep getting stronger just as your do.

Sadly, but not disapointingly, your rival has a view cheesy lines which you may or may not notice, which lower the perfection of his character.

Pokemon Yellow does have changes from Red and Blue, and although not many, they are easily noticeable. For one, which is obvious right away, is that instead of the usual three starter Pokemon you are offered, you are instead given a Pikachu.

This Pikachu of yours, will stay out of its Pokemon ball for the rest of the game, which if you watch it, is just like the tv series. Also like the series, is Team Rocket. Jesse, James and Meowth are seen throughout the game, using the same Pokemon they use in the show.

Besides these, there are not many changes from the other games, which is the main problem, the three games are just to alike.

However that is not neccessarily a bad thing, because this allows much imporvment for future titles.

As for difficulty, it is satisfying, and should keep a nice trend of challenge as you go. You may have a shaky start to game however, because a lack of money to spend, means a lack of health items to purchase, means it may be hard to heal your Pokemon after a tough fight.

Pokemon Yellow is also better than the two prequel titles, as now that you have a Pikachu instead of the usual three Pokemon, it helps make the game more challenging, by forcing you to think up of new strategies to advance.

Overall, Pokemon Yellow is the best 1st generation of Pokemon games, and it offers hours of RPG mania. However it does not retain as much value if you already own Pokemon Red or Blue.

Ahora para la porciĆ³n que raya. :)

Graphics: 8/10: Nice for 1999, but there are loads of glitches to be aware of. This does not ruin the fun however.

Dynamics: 9/10: Amazing RPG tactics set the stage for future games, except for a few shallow segments.

Characters: 8/10: A few cheesy character lines are easy to forgive, but still noticeable.

Difficulty: 8/10: You may have trouble making it through at the start, but don't worry, things get a lot smoother from there.

Gameplay: 6/10: Not nearly as good of a value if you own Pokemon Red or Blue, but the game is still nice and long.

Overall: 39/50 = 9.0/10 = It's Grrrrrrrreat!

Pika- Pika!
