Pokemon Black is a great game. But it could of raised the bar A LOT higher for Nintendo and future Pokemon games.

The reason why Pokemon HG/SS was my one of my favorite Pokemon games was because it gave the series a much needed, little twist. Just enough to make it seem fresh, but not so much that couldn't tell that you were playing Pokemon. After playing through Pokemon HG/SS I really got my hopes up for Black and White because I thought Pokemon would add all the things that made HG/SS fun and more. After finally getting my hands on Black and White it felt as if Pokemon forgot ALL ABOUT what made HG/SS so awesome. It felt like I was playing through D/P again, which is not a bad thing, but because of the fact the HG/SS took it so much further I expected more. But that's enough about what was bad now lets talk about the good. Pokemon Black using the original formula is NOT a total loss, I always enjoyed the old formula, its just seems sometimes with Pokemon that Nintendo is just being lazy. But one of the things I thought was really cool about Pokemon was mainly the fact that they were starting a whole new Generation, and I've always enjoyed seeing all the new Pokemon that were added in the series. It makes the game a little less predictable because of the fact that you've never heard of or seen the Pokemon the trainer is sending out. The main down side about HG/SS (just shut up about HG/SS already -.-') is that it was just a remake and it didn't keep you on your toes as much, because you recognized all the Pokemon. I was also hoping that your Pokemon would follow you around like in...well....you know what I'm gonna say. Maybe they will do it in Pokemon Grey, or the rumored Ruby and Sapphire remake. In Pokemon Black and White one thing you can note was the graphics were GREATLY improved. Now I'm not a graphics freak but its still a little side thing to point out. Another cool thing in Pokemon Black and White was I felt that the online play was much improved. The C-gear was really cool, the GTS was awesome and a new feature was you could battle people you don't know. The down side to that was there were often hackers doing the random battles which often made it frustrating. And as usual you can exchange friend codes and battle over Wi-Fi. Well that's really all I have to say about Pokemon Black and White. If it seems like I bashed it to much, dont let that scare you away this is a awesome game and I recommend it to any fan of the series.
