PlayStation Vita E3 2011 Aftermath Video Feature (PlayStation Vita)

VITA's the only new gadget to date, that has truly brought somethin new to the table, and I say that after being so doubtful about it before getting one myself. Absolutely innovative, and easily takes the lead in portable gaming. Heck, it had me off the console for well over the month even. Bring on the ultra-titles, find a solution to the memory cards' hefty price tags, and u got urself a monopoly Sony.

I just realized something... There is a possibility that the $300 PS VITA could actually have no 3G monthly plan. My reasoning is that the Kindle, you know the reading thing, already did it (free 3G just a higher starting price) and it was with AT&T so i'm hoping for the same thing with the VITA.

The hardware potential for the Vita is tremendous but I cant help but feel aprehensive about this console after what happened to the PSP. Nintendo did it so right with the DS and while the 3DS has had a weak start, it'll eventually get there. You know Nintendo will pump what it can into its handhelds. Sony on the other hand seemed to just let the PSP die, and it might happen the same way with Vita. Software and games specifically designed for Vita, not just ports, are what it will need to succeed.

I've got mine preordered, with Hot Shots Golf and Uncharted Golden Abyss as well, it's going to be an incredible system. People forget that the PSP was Sony's FIRST attempt at a handheld, don't even mention that little memory card gadget, that wasn't a handheld. So, Vita has really addressed all the main gripes about the original PSP, it now has full console type controls for the most part with the dual analog sticks. Upgradable flash based games, wireless n, touch screen and touch surface on the back... cameras, built in mic. It's now up to Sony first party to support it at launch and hopefully the 3rd party stuff will come this time as well.

My understanding is that the Vita is backwards compatible ( for games downloaded from PSN ). Sony need a strong launch line up and then a strong second wave without too much of a wait. Personally I'm looking forward to it and so far the variety of announced games looks good! :D:D

This has the potential to be SO good if Sony just lets people harness what it's capable of. When the PSP came out I was barely old enough to comprehend the tools I needed to watch descent quality videos on what was at the time an amazing screen. If this thing has a QHD OLED screen, 4 CPU cores and 2 GPU cores and I can't do **** with it I'm going to be incredibly frustrated even if I don't own it. Just because I'll be mad at unrealized potential.

Hardware wise, we all know that the Vita is a beast compared to the first PSP and PSP Go. What I'm concerned is the library of games it will have at launch time.

it would be really cool and pretty funny if they did a easy tack on of the wii u stuff on to the vita when your playing those ps3 games. that would make me laugh pretty hard while being super useful

I want that line between console and handheld blurred to the point that it ceases to exist. One day soon we can hopefully play games at home or on the go with minimal interruption to change over. Developers will no longer make games that are console or handheld specific but let you the gamer decide how, when, and where you play. Fingers crossed that it will be sooner rather than later. The trend from Sony and Nintendo seems to be leaning that way at least.

and aother reason i wanna buy a new phone if buy this 3g version i save tons of money

i mostly want it as a phone more then a console cuz like your are at work and your brake time is really short why not play and talk at the same time with the same device :)

"Has all the features you would expect" does that mean internet browser/netflix/psn video store?

@fkbwii Not just the launch titles, the 3DS had a gap between the launch titles and the second wave of games , Sony can't allow that to happen with the Vita either. Houston, they have a problem!

It all depends on the launch games. If the launch games are good, the PSV will have the lead in the early going of this race because the 3DS had mediocre launch titles.
