This is supposed to beat the DS?

What is the PSP? Apparently no one knows, not even Sony. The PSP is supposed to be a handheld system that plays games, MP3s and videos. That all sounds cool, but there are problems. The audio sounds very tinny when you listen to music. You'd do better with a cd or a real MP3 player. You can watch movies, but you only get a 32mb memory stick with your psp, so before you can put high quality and lengthy videos on your psp, your probably looking at $60 for more memory. The systems design makes it look really cool, but it also makes it the most fragile thing ever. The screen will easily get scratches. There also problems with the hardware. Dead pixels are common and annoying, and stuck pixels appear quite a bit as well. You can also look at pictures on the psp. this is about the only thing it does well. Now we get to the games. As of writing this, there are very few original titles. You'd do better with your PS2. The launch had games like Twisted Metal, Metal Gear Ac!d and Lumines. Unfortunately, most of those games are sequels and rehashes. On a good note, the graphics are almost PS2 quality. To controll, you have the dpad, and an analog nub. The analog is very unprecise, and very rarely do you go in the direction you want to, so you'll probably end up using the dpad. The PSP isn't really any competition for the DS. Sony made it a system that could do everything, and that's ultimately it's doom. Had they just focused on making it play games, it would be much more affordable and a better competitor.
