Honestly I feel that sony's smash bros clone came incredibly too late, as Nintendo is already working on the 4th installment of Smash bros, and sony just made one incredibly lacking one.
Honestly in terms of content, I'd compare this to Super Smash
bros 64, because there really isnt a lot to it.
You're either playing the story lines of each charcter, or playing online. There are trial modes but honestly they're a complete joke. Most of them is "Get a kill with a lv 1 special" or something following that pattern.
Which brings me to a fatal flaw of this game, the only way to get a kill in this game is by using your special attacks, and with a system like that you kinda assume that all specials are equal.
Well.... they're not. You characters like Sly Cooper who's lv 1 special can go for a reasonable distance very fast, and then you have characters like Jak, who's first special have almost no hitbox at all. Such things are frequent through out the roster.
But thats not the only problem with balance, characters like Raiden or Kratos have an insanely easy time chaining combos together, while other characters can barely land 3 or 4 hits in succession. This leads to an extremely unbalanced character roster. Almost every online match you play will either have Kratos or Raiden in it, While half of the character roster is nowhere to be seen.
At least its Wi-fi isnt a broken mess like Brawl's was. I've had a realitively stable connection and frame rate while playing.
I overall got a much better experience playing smash bros than this game. Maybe its because smash actually makes you unlock things, while everything is available at the start for play station all stars.
Its a fun little distraction, but the novelty wears off pretty quick.

Although it lacks of good cut scenes during arcade mode, it gives an outstading multiplayer experience.
