When a game freezes on the PS3 SLIM and you go and turn the console into standby mode with the disk still inside. Is it good for the console?

How many idiots does it take to unpack a ps3? Two apparently -and badly. How useless is this video. Was it at all possible amidst their ramblings to at least keep the camera steady? How about filming it from space next time -so we see every detail. I widened my butt and this video fell out.

im getting this tomarrow for my B-day. i have never had a ps3 so it should be pretty cool to have a slim one when all my firends have fat ones lol

I think the new PS3 is a great idea. There are loads of people out there who don't have a PS3 but were wary of a purchase and I think that this new hardware will be a huge deciding factor. Not to mention the price cut. How many PS2 slims sold last year? I don't know the exact number, but I do know that it was A LOT. As for the new look, I love it. I'm all for matte finishes; fingerprints are the bane of my existence. I can't even buy a black guitar anymore! :)

I own the first gen shiny PS3 and I like the look a lot better however PS3 is still PS3 to me and I'm happy to see a new wave of people join in on PSN with their new systems

I think that the first gen of ps3s are way better than the new slims. And if you are short on memory, all you have to do is just swap the hard drive with a bigger, faster one. All it is is a laptop hard drive. I swap my 40 gigs to a 160gig and I got it for only 30 bucks.

Why not put the emotion chip back in, so it will have full BC, and charge $399? I would actually buy it if they did that.

Hah, no Linux? No memory card slots? I'm glad I have the 60Gb version that has the most playback capability, mot USB ports and all that!!!

might consider the smaller one, but here in swiss they still want 449 for it, no chance untill that drops, im only gonna use it for uncharted and blueray -.-

@guitar_and_xbox he was talking about the font on the ps3 itself, not the software. they changed it from the spiderman type of font back to remnants of the ps2 font.

@DanC1989 you need to update your PS3's firmware

I hate how they've changed the font halfway (or less) through the console's life cycle. Now my phat PS3 doesn't have a proper identity.

i hopefully will get enough money to get a ps3 by christmas of this year so ill most likely get a slim. they do the same things so its a matter of what you think looks better. and i prefer the slim.

I'll be buying the original. I like the gloss look plus the slim one doesn't allow you to install Linux :( the PS3 slim is good for those who are into having as much space as possible. I wish they would've done more research on it before posting the video. They look so lost trying to find the internet connection and flipping through the book.

I think ill just get the oringinal one since they are going to be the same price. i like the look of the original either. oh and also...that was the worst review video i have ever seen...they knew nothing about it. I LOVE IT!!!!!! and im getting it:) its smaller, lighter, more efficient, and it has a matte finish instead of glossy so no more smudges yay!! and its cheaper :)

The PS3 came out being better than the 360 you fool. Remind me again how many RROD you had so far?

I really don't see why Sony bring out a slim version of everything like the PS1, PS2, PSP slim and lite, PSP 3000 and now this! I think that this is a complete waste of Sony's time they could be doing so much more useful things like to try and be as good as Xbox 360

its better looking than previous consoles such as the game cube, the original xbox, the playstation 1, possibly 2 as well. The 360 is the best looking console imo in terms of simplicity and style, as well as customization. I would say this slim comes in second place, in terms of simple yet non ugly appeal.That said, i still prefer the old 60gig version of the PS3 since it had more features and better hardware.

One Word: UGLY

i'll stick with my big bulky incovenient PS3!!!. the slim ps2's were a joke.... they messed up so easily.... saw so many friends go thru those. i hope the PS3 slim isn't the same....

umm think about it...the ps2 fat was hackable easily the slim got harder if your a hacker this is not good for you and i have a feeling this will break faster than the fat one because the ps2 slim messes up way easier than the flat one so i wouldnt reccomend this to any1

I dont care for the color either. But to get more HDD space at a cheaper price is hard to complain about. I tuck all my systems behind my TV anywho.

@anyone who even bothers to listen. This console is suppose to reflect upon Sony's effort to cut production cost while not cutting awa from the actual gaming experience. I have a new P33 and it does not disappoint. A bigger fan to help with internal cooling, 33 the size of the original, no pix bridge (like you really need one), a big HDD then the CECHKxx model and plus it's built in wifi unlike the original CECHBxx model... This console rocks and is an energy efficient computer entiertainment system too. Freakin a... people still pay for an account for online Gaming... Wow... How's your RROD ratio stacking up over there?
