I mean, sometimes it will, but not usually. Normally it'll start spinning the disc (make an eject noise (and not eject) then nothing will appear on the game menu. But Ps1 games will load just fine.
What do I do? It's a 120gb slim (out of warranty, purchased in 2009)

Blu-ray laser failure.
DVDs and CDs will work (red laser)

Seems like your blu ray diode is on it's way out. You can try a cleaning cd or something to see if it's dust (unless you can take it apart and clean it yourself). Otherwise it'll have to go to a repair shop and have the laser replaced, which usually runs about $100.

Yes. Just look up the correct part for your model. Plenty of easy to find info on which one you need.

Also plenty of youtube Tutorials on how to do it. My old fat has the same issue. Everything works except the blu-ray drive. I've been thinking about fixing it myself at some point in time.
