Not excited about the next generation of consoles?

I'm done here. Next Gen does not appeal to me either. This Gen has shown me the direction gaming is going and it isn't for me. I enjoy some titles from this Gen and will continue to play them and my older stuff.

I will offer this advice for those going into next Gen..
Wait it out. Consoles will launch over priced even if the advertising says otherwise. The good games won't come out until game developers catch up with the new technology, this will take some time. As we have seen in many other Gens, the best stuff tends to come out later in a consoles lifecycle.

Further, this will give you a chance to gauge what the companies intend to do as far as a direction for the industry. Be it digital, 3-D only, motion controller gimmicks or what have you.

Take your time future gamers. Make purchases that are informed. Don't buy whatever new hotness comes out unless you know its a good fit for you.. If the industry does go the game lock route, this will be critical to help keep your favorite gaming franchise(s) alive.

I know, we, the current gamers have allowed the industry to put all of us in a not perfect position but there is plenty of bright spots about the industry still.

If you support only the best quality stuff.. The industry can still be made to try and produce up to that standard.
