I find it really striking, that with over the 30 games I owned in PS3, that I still don't feel quite satisfied of its era. Maybe it's my age, (though I am not that old, just reiterating the fact that my age back then and now, have probably impacted how much I enjoy the games I play) or maybe it is something else, but I find games back then more entertaining that it is now.
I find games back then, hard but satisfying when you accomplish them (coming from someone who is not decent with games other than fighting and strategy games). Idk, I remember playing Megaman on PS1, and I failed so many times and sometimes it would take me 2 hours to beat just one stage, but beating that stage felt so gratifying that it makes me want to keep moving.
Even playing old PS2 games, the mechanics were simple (though control issues were usually common due to there were no standard button mechanics that everyone accepted), yet games nowadays does not suffice the satisfaction I crave.
Sure there were many games that I enjoyed in PS3, but I always feel that something is missing. Have you ever had that feeling that even though you enjoyed all the games you played, you're looking for this particular game that would quench your thirst of satisfaction. A game so good that it doesn't need a sequel.
Idk, in the older gen, there is always that one game that you will never ever forget, but I feel in the PS3 era, though there are a lot of great games (I'm not saying that there aren't), it's just I feel that they seem to be easily forgettable. I don't think there are many games in the PS3 that people would call a classic game. A great game, surely I agree, I feel after the next gen comes out, many will forget many games that were great in the PS3.
[This is purely subjected, and I hope you don't attack me for my comment. We can discuss why you feel differently or similarly, but please don't say that I am a troll. I clearly stated and pointed why I feel this and that. Anyway the the curtain nearly falling on the PS3 era, I wish to see what are people's opinion in regard to how much they enjoyed the PS3 generation. Thank you for reading my thread. Hope we will all have fun discussing how much fun you had.]

Nope, early adopter too, exclusives just weren't good for me and multiplayer was just so much better on Xbox 360 and PC.

Hmmm... I forgot to mention multiplayer haha thank you buddy.
I feel that the multiplayer was also bad in PS3, but then again you aren't really paying for any of their server service, so I have no place to complain about the things that are free.
Though I do not own an XBOX360, I feel that playing multiplayer is much better in PC, compare to PS3.

PS3 was easily Sony's best gen followed by the psone

I didn't love ALL the games I played on PS3 - of course - but I still loved the vast majority and felt this was Sony's strongest generation in terms of games offered and game quality. PS3 is now one of my favorite systems to date, up there with the SNES and GameCube.

Yep. Plenty of blasts from the past, updates to last gen titles and new IPs.

This gen has been amazing to me, like every other gen honestly.
This isn't my favourite gen, but has by no means disappointed me.

Yes, very. Maybe once or twice a game wasn't all I hoped it would be, but for the most part it was.

Games like God of War 3, Killzone 2, and uncharted 2 knocked my socks off but I feel like the ps3 is still missing something...hmmm...

This generation as a whole was slightly disappointing overall in my opinion. A few things I liked though:
Platformers - From wickedly innovative 1st-person puzzle/platformer Portal to New Super Mario Bros Wii, Limbo, Super Meat Boy, Rayman Origins, and Bit.Trip Runner. Some of the best we've had in a long time.
Downloads - The ability to easily download classic games or smaller (PSN/XBLA style) games for decent prices.
Social Activity - As much as people hate on the Wii, it's a great compliment to either a PS3 or 360 and I really enjoyed being able to play fun, pick-up-and-play games like Wii Sports Resort with people who traditionally don't play games...girlfriends, family members, etc.

Pretty good though sadden by the fact that there's lack of good jrpg (especially the dark-themed rpg like Shadow Hearts, DDS, Nocturne, BOF5, etc)

I was thinking the same thing too.
Like there are so many good games out there, yet you know it felt something was off?
Hmmm... hopefully that game will be the one haha I remember playing Ico when I was 10/11.

Yeah, there were a few stinkers I've played but for the most part, the PS3/360 era had some pretty damn good games.

Yea, I think PS3 will be the last home console I'll ever play games on.
Leaving PC, as my last resort to play games. I don't think I'll be buying a PS4...

PS3 enthusiasts hyped any exclusives beyond there worth.
inFAMOUS was a below average game with some cool glitter sprinkled over it (the dazzling powers)
Uncharted is definitely great but no masterpiece
Killzone is good if you like your games to depress you
Never played Resistance so no comment
Lost Odyssey was the best JRPG this Gen, but the PS3 did have the quantity.. take that for what you will.
Journey was cool for what it was, but I wasn't a fan. Though I was no fan of TWD either.
Twisted Metal is OK but not really my thing.
The entire LBP series is a massive dissapointment.
Never did like Sly Cooper.
Ratchet and Clank... the youngins in my family loved them.
I'm looking forward to playing No No Kuni when it has a price drop online. It looks fantastic.
I know everybody loves to brag about the PS3 exclusive library but I don't think either console had any killer exclusives at all. Surely nothing to gloat online about.
Everything truly worthwhile was multi plat.

There are some exclusives that are worth mentioning, though i have to agree that many of the great games are multiplatform.
Though, I do not regret buying a PS3. The one thing I surely like in PS3 that Xbox doesn't are the classic games and the HD remakes. I don't think Xbox have those (i'm not sure if they have it, i don't own xbox)
Can you play games from the original XBOX on an XBOX 360?

Absolutely not.
It is the worst console I've owned with good games coming out 4-6 MONTHS apart.
Everything is so western, and Sony doesn't even give an effort in obtaining exclusives from some of their Japanese friends (corporations).

I think I bought the wrong console this gen.
