I got over 500+ games on over 10 systems but I guess i'm not a gamer. I'm just a guy who loves picking up games and playing them for no reason at all.
Btw I have 53 PS3 games.

Honestly, I don't think there's 100 games on ANY system worth owning. The SNES, NES, and PS1 probably get up there in numbers, but it's hard to say you HAVE to own at least 100 PS3 games to call yourself a gamer. At $60 a pop (just for numbers' sake), that's $6000 of PS3 games alone.
I don't know about you guys, but there's no ****ing way I'm spending that kind of money on PS3 games. I own tons of current and classic systems, over two-hundred games (some collectibles I've hunted down), and I play games whenever I can...but as a 26-year-old with wife, job, child, and - more importantly - a life outside of gaming, I couldn't justify spending thousands on a single console's game library. Not only due to the absurd cost that - as much as I love gaming - would be far better toned down to pay for smarter purchases, but because there aren't 100 titles I'd be interested in owning.
Anyone who throws thousands and thousands of dollars into a single console's library at this stage of the industry either: A. Has rich, pandering parents; or B. Games all day and night and spends whatever welfare check they collect that isn't spent on Taco Bell on games.

Actually I'm inclined to agree. There aren't 100 PS3 games worth owning, but their are over 100 PS1 games worth owning.

I disagree. You can still be a gamer even if you sell your games. Sometimes, you might need the money (however little it may be) for something else that's more important. If you have to choose between selling a few games to cover the power bill or keeping those games and losing your power, I'd like to think a sensible person would sell the games.
Besides, the "qualifications" for being a gamer vary by person. What you might feel is needed could be way different than how I feel.

True that. Like anyone else here, we all have games we can get into and games we can't get into playing. To be honest if I went out and bought 100 PS3 games I'd rather go about getting the 100 games I know I'd be wanting to play if you know what I mean, rather than have games just to build up my collection. I guess in the end I learned sometime after I started gaming is to figure out what kind of games I know I can get into and what kind I can't attain my attention for very long. I admit there have been a few games in certain genres that have got my attention to play, but those are the only ones in that area I'll play while the others really don't reach out to me. I highly doubt that I'll own 100 PlayStation3 games, but I have games on other consoles as well as PC that I have that I can play when I can.

To be a gamer, all you need is 1 (one) game.
To be a video gamer, all you need is 1 video game and the system to play it on (TV as well).
To be a PS3 gamer, all you need is 1 PS3 game and the PS3 system to play it on (TV as well).
Etc.
Gamers are not defined by the amount of games that they own, but by one that they actually play and (maybe) enjoy.

I have better things to do with my time and money. Games aren't even that good to get so high counts let alone to keep long-term. I have under 10 games, will keep it that way.
