Check out a sick CGI trailer for PlanetSide 2.
that one red guy was awesome. he jumped out of the cockpit to punch that guy in the head and he didnt even have a jetpack. talk about a crazy bastard.
Ugh, another big reason why I should have got a PS3, damn you microsoft, you let me down at every turn! and ps3 surprises me.. I wanted that damn Kratos for my MK -.-
And now I need this.. I'll never betray you again, sony..
Great trailer. Now we can only hope the game plays like that. I don't remember being able to jetpack on moving planes and shooting through their windshield. lol!! I just hope there isn't any lag, as it kill the first game.
Ok scratch that, not really, and this looks nice indeed, if real gameplay would be this open space/world like. with altitudes and all.
@ShadowRun02 There will be jet-packs as a feature of one of the classes, and there will be cloaking. However, the cloaking has it's drawbacks. The more effective the cloak, the greater the drawback. For example, with heavy cloaks (near perfect cloaks) they only last for a little bit, and you can't carry a large weapon, such as a sniper rifle.
Normally I would frown at such a trailer for a game, but in this case I'm making an exception considering there is over 4 hours of unedited E3 gameplay footage on Youtube. That is far more than most games will give you before release, and the beta is just around the corner.
The trailer has been made really well, although I think it could have had less NC bias XD. It would have been interesting to follow 3 characters, one from each faction, as they do awesome stuff like this and then eventually meet each other in battle. But nonetheless, this was a great cinematic :)
CGI trailers look cool... they are suppose to be intresting and cool and show 0% gameplay so... yeah... until I know if they kept the latice system from the first one is gone I won't care, you could make the greatest shooter ever but if you force me to attack bases only attached to bases my faction owns you turn it from a cool idea to a stupid zerg fest, you take the idea of a world at war and turn it to stages it's pointless it makes no sense bases that are in the middle are magically immune (if you played the beta from PS1 you get what I mean)
The trailer doesn't really mean anything, but I am very excited about this game. If they can really pull it off, thousands of players and hundreds of vehicles on the same battlefield with smooth gameplay, well, we will see.
Funny we call these "CGI trailers" now, as though anything in the game *isn't* a computer generated image...
After watching this trailer I watched a 1h 30min video of gameplay from the last E3. Looks like a lot of fun.
Rebel scum protagonist? Why not glorious TR? And why are the Vanu there? I thought the Vanu came out mostly at night...mostly.
@xtraflossy in case you didn't know, there are a few hours of gameplay footage on youtube if you're interested. they did a live stream during E3 of people checking out the game.
there's also a 45 minute demo of the game, showing off air combat before the dev jumps into a tank with a half dozen other tanks to assault a base.
I'm lovin' the single-take battle scene. Hollywood needs to integrate these kinds of epicness into their movies.
