A pleasant platformer.
The game takes place over 15 levels set in a variety of icy locales. Your character can run, jump, punch, and, when stocked up, throw rocks. Obstacles come in the form of platforms to jump on, icewalls and ropes to climb, animals to avoid, and snowballs to dodge. Levels are of a reasonable length, and with one exception, can be won by most players in a few tries.
Level design is where platformers stand or fall, and Glacier largely stands. The obstacles are engaging and there are a few surprises, such as sliding along ropes, which can be pretty fun. The levels mostly increase in difficulty, but the hardest level is probably the second ice cave, smack in the middle of the game. You may spend a while -- too long -- trying to get past the gauntlet of monkeys in that level.
Graphics are fine, though a bit repetitive and white. Sound is best turned off. Controls are reasonable.
Overall, a worthwhile game for fans of the platforming genre.
