If you were alive in the 80's, there's not doubt you've heard of Pitfall. And you've probably played it on one machine or another. The idea is to run horizontally, from screen to screen, picking up treasure along the way. While doing this, you have to avoid hazards such as tar pits, quicksand, water holes, rolling logs, rattlesnakes, scorpions, walls, fire, and crocodiles. You can avoid these hazards by jumping over them or swinging over them on a vine. There is a timer running while you're playing the game, and the game ends when the timer runs out. Other than that, there is no ending. Back in the 80's, when the game came out for Atari 2600, the Television commercial for the game featured Jack Black as a child. Pitfall has also appeared in many other pop culture references, since it was such a memorable experience for many people in their late 20's and 30's.
