Pitfall! (1984)

I have pretty fond memories of playing Pitfall! with my Mom when I was just a tyke. It was the only game of it's kind on Atari and delivered an experience like no other.

By todays standards it was pretty sappy and simplistic. But back then it was AMAZING. Running around grabbing swinging vines , jumping over logs (or were they timble weeds?), dodging scorpions and jumping on alligators when they closed their mouths (and if you timed it wrong you just kinda melted straight down into the gators jaw, heh). But it was all in good fun and compared to other games on Atari, Pitfall! was really something special and holds a well deserved place in my heart as a TRUE classic.

Ahh, those were the days.
