It's such a shame this game bears the name 'Pirates of the Caribbean'
It's a shame. This game had everything going for it. It had a big name, and two of the best companies you could want developing a game (Bethesda and Ubisoft) It's just a shame that this pile of rubbish turned out broken, unfinished, tacky and just not fun.
The controller is a unresponsive abomination, the hack 'n' slash gameplay is unimaginative and repetitive, the graphics rough and dull. The multiplayer seems to have been thrown together in a matter of minutes, i had one problem with the other player getting stuck off screen and not being able to play. And i think that's the most important part of any game; being able to play it. It is a real shame, the simple idea of a pirate running around slashing up other pirates should be easy enough to master, but bethesda really made a mess of this.
Now, i may have an explanation for this. The game was released in 2006. A year before The Elder Scrolls IV. What i see here, is a project tossed aside to make way for the real deal.
This review may seem shallow and more like a moany blog than a review. A better review requires me to play the game more, and to be honest. I think ill pass on that.
