You'll fall in love with the world within

User Rating: 8.5 | Pikmin 3 WIIU
Now, being partial to the previous Pikmin games in the series I do know where the game is coming from and what it's all about. So, this is not coming from someone who has never played the game in his life.

Pikmin 3 starts off like most Pikmin games; very slow and really teaching the player about the game and the vast amount of possibilities that await you after getting all of those pikmin types. There will be times where you will think "Dang! If only I had something else in order to get that!". And later on you might get a new Pikmin or suit upgrade o help. This makes it great to return to old areas, but find something completely new. It makes you feel like you are really exploring the world. THe game play is very intuitive with it's 3 different control schemes to fit the players preference. Some shine brighter than others, but that is all up to the player. The story is not very complex, but keeps you into it with many different things to keep you immersed within The 3 captains lives.

Now there are always flaws in games (and just rational/irrational opinions) and this game isn't shy of them. Pikmin still have that tendency to wander off ,or fall off of bridges into water, or as always get stuck on a wall. But, I still have to admit, compared to the previous games, these Pikmin are frickin' geniuses. The absence of the "C-Stick movement" is very annoying. They have a new system to where you lock on to something and dismiss you're Pikmin telling them to charge at it. But I find myself either dismissing too soon, missing the target to lock on, or just taking up too much time to lock on and then dismiss them. It would be much simpler if we could have just thrown them into the enemies or items like before, but that's probably just me complaining :/

All in all, this game is a great addition to the series. It has those fun treasure finding experiences of Pikmin 2, with that survival element of Pikmin 1 tha I love. It isn't shy of content yo look for or fun multiplayer experiences. If you don't have Pikmin 3 (and are one of only 3 million people with a Wii U at this point) why have you not gotten his game already?!
