"Phantasy Star" 0 is a "hack and slash action rpg".It controls great and has a unique battle system. Using buttons you can customize you switch between light and heavy attacks to create "chains" and deal more damage.If you dislike the default buttons, you can customize them. Magic is also in the game and can also be customized to different buttons too. Offline mode is basically exploring the seven zones, taking missions and gaining EXP. In order to get online you have to do story mode to unlock the zones,level up and get new weapons. The AI in story mode is kind of dumb. This made boss battles hard as for some reason, the AI heals you at random times.Now for the online mode. Online mode is when you explore the zones,do missions and level up with your buddies or strangers. The online mode stretches world wide. If you play with anyone you might find yourself playing with people all the way from Japan! Sadly you can only free chat with your buddies. You can't free chat with strangers but you can use preselected messages. Overall "Phantasy Star Zero" is one of those must have games for the DS.
Quite the happy medium. Any of you out there that were completely addicted to PSO but never found PSU to contain the same charm, this game is really good, keeping true to the original, but not without it's own merits. ... Read Full Review
