One of the Sega Genesis's finest moments.

User Rating: 10 | Phantasy Star II: Kaerazaru Toki no Owari ni GEN
Phantasy Star two was a sequal that exceded the original hands down. The music was better, the graphics were incredible for the time, and the fighting system was revolutionary at the time. Not to mention the first RPG to have several shocking moments, which I won't spoil here. (although most of you probably already know)

Graphics: These are pretty good graphics considering it was realised early in the sega's lifespan. Its a very colorful world that has nicely detailed sprites. The animations at the time were mindblowing. It wasn't very often you saw your character actucally hit anouther in an RPG. FF was way behind this at the time. The only draw back would be the "virtual look" of the battle screen.

Music: This soundtrack is very well done. The Genesis once again surprises me by what it can do. Town themes, Battle themes, Dungeon thems....they are all different and all good. The sound effects are a little more bleepy and boopy than what they sound be, but they work well for the game.

Difficulty: Well as in any RPG, if you don't level up your characters, they will get the crap kicked out of them. Plus, you won't have enough money to buy better equipment. It certainly is a tolerable difficulty, if you level up frequently.

Fun: Plenty of fun to go around. The story is well done and will of course, surprise you several times.

Overall: This game is a 10. I know its not a 10 by "today's" standards, but It still gets a 10 for being a wonderful classic that should be enjoyed by all. However, if you don't own it be prepared to spend alot of money on this cart.
