Your protagonist's are very similar to each other but a lot of things are switched around to make the seem different. For instance, Their reasons for moving to a new place are basically excuses for them to move somewhere alone. In the very beginning of the game when Chie finds out the MC moved to Inaba because his parents had to work over seas, she is surprised it is something so trivial. Compare to P3MC, who's parents are dead and had been sent to live with relatives before finally being sent to a private school. To add to this fact, both are of the Fool Arcana, even Orpheus and Izanagi's stories in mythology are the same.
Another great example is Akihiko and Kanji, It was even mentioned in this game. Both are lightning-wielding brawlers, they are both of the Emperor Arcana which may symbolize their similar personalities.Interestingly enough, both characters use these personalities to hide their deepest fears, Akihiko's fear of losing others and Kanji's fear of not being accepted by others. Also both are exceptional fighters.

I think it's kind of silly to compare the MCs though, I mean Fool arcana is kind of a duh thing as to why they both have that, like you can barely even make connections between the two MCs because everything is pretty obvious and all...
Uh, no offense or anything. I'm just saying most comparisons that can be made are because of arcanas (Since they do have reasons for what the represent and such.), and when it comes to MCs, they don't wanna get creative :v

Bad Ending: Kill Ryoji
Good Ending: Strega/Nyx Avatar
True Ending: Erebus
Bad Ending: Kill Namatame
Good Ending: Adachi/Ameno-Sagiri
True Ending: Izanami
Interesting enough, the endings in P4 were in some form or fashion the endings of P3:FES. In the bad ending of P4: If you killed Namatame, you'd thought it'll end the cause of all that fog and put an end to the murders but, in doing so, you only prolonged it, never finding real killer and your little cousin ends up dying. Not only have you not solved the case, but the people were still going to get turned into shadows by, yours truly, resulting to something similar to "The Fall". Plus, the people in Inaba were making all kinds of rumors about the fog, sort of like the "cult" in P3. Similar to that, the good ending was finding out who the culprit was and fighting a persona user. Ameno-sagiri is basically the Izanami Avatar, just like the Nyx Avatar from P3. Now for the true ending, which was kind of like "The Answers" story where you couldn't leave the TV world until you defeat Izanami. You also find out the reasons of your persona ability, just like you find out the reason for "his death" in P3FES. Interesting enough both happen on the dates exactly before your departure.
So yeah there are many similarities within both games but I just named the ones that were nagging at me the most.

Sadly neither can cook worth anything plus, Yukiko's laughing fits and Fuuka's laughing in the camera video in P3:FES were both equally annoying.
Don't Fuuka and Yukiko both actually learn to cook? It was never really said for Yukiko, besides the part in P4 where all of the girls baked a cake for Nanako (And even then, that took three tries...), but Fuuka's cookie was pretty good. I think.
As for the laughing... now you're just grasping at straws.
