After showing Warhammer Online off at this year's E3, Climax has unveiled eight of the starting "careers" (its term for classes) for the upcoming PC game. Set in the troubled realm of Reikland, the dark fantasy massively multiplayer role-playing game will employ the same branching career system as its pen-and-paper and miniature game inspiration. Players in the game will start off in lowly jobs and will work their way up to more accomplished positions. The starting careers announced so far are:

  • Thug, a skilled and vicious fighter
  • Novice, a devout individual being indoctrinated into a cult
  • Petty Crook, actively seeking out a life of crime
  • Militia, a young fighter with a strong sense of sprit for community service
  • Rascal, born opportunists living by their wits
  • Scribe, hailed for being from the privileged class
  • Scout, often hired as adjuncts to the militia due to their skills at hunting and tracking
  • Sell Sword, eager to learn their trade as likely young fighters
  • Although Warhammer Online has been in development for more than two years, no release date has yet been announced.
