Thrillville jumping tracks in October

Follow-up to Frontier's kid-friendly theme park manager headed to 360, Wii, DS, PS2, PSP, and PC this fall; original Thrillville goes platinum.

Taking a few corkscrews, loop-the-loops, and vomit spills out of its sim-heavy Roller Coaster Tycoon series, Frontier Development scored a mostly unexpected hit last year with its kid-friendly theme park management game Thrillville. Hoping to duplicate that success, LucasArts announced construction was well under way on Thrillville's follow-up, Thrillville: Off the Rails.

Management sims are all about starting small with a mind toward building bigger to attract more crowds. Taking a page out of its own gameplay principals, Frontier has expanded its operations to include the Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and PC, though Microsoft's aging teacup console, the original Xbox, was left off the list. Off the Rails will feature 20 rides, a story mode that includes more than 100 missions, and 34 multiplayer minigames. Slated to arrive this October, Off the Rails has not yet been rated or priced.

LucasArts also sends along word today that the original Thrillville has been added to Sony's Greatest Hits games for the PS2 and PSP, as well as Microsoft's Platinum Family Hits line on the Xbox, and will now retail for $19.99. Thrillville is rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older.

I've always wanted a theme park game to come to the Xbox 360. Hope it proves quite good. I'm not expecting a masterpiece but still, hopefully should prove good.

I hope they use some controls similar to C&C3 and hopefully not charge a full 60 bucks for a kid game on the 360... am I asking too much, I like to think not

looks like fun, but i won't have enough time to play/pay for it this year, because of all the other great games on the 360.

This needs a online mode where people can go visit other players themeparks and ride their rides.

I really liked the first one for the PSP, and I will definitely buy the wii version of Thrillville. I hope that the Wii versions price tag is 30 bucks or less.

I didn't get the original Thrillville because it was on a last-gen console, but I will definately rent this when it comes out since I'm a big fan of the RCT series.

"Microsoft's aging teacup console, the original Xbox, was left off the list..."

looks like the ps3 gets left out as well, and it's still (somewhat) alive.
