Sims get ready to celebrate the season

EA to offer The Sims 2 Holiday Edition; package includes full game, plus festive bonus items for the virtual home.

Electronic Arts today announced that it is injecting an element of festive seasonal cheer into its Sims franchise with the November 17 release of The Sims 2: Holiday Edition for the PC. Carrying the same $49.99 price as the original release of The Sims 2, the bundle includes the full original game, as well as 40 new holiday-themed objects, from stockings to hang by a chimney with care, to a tacky reindeer lawn ornament.

Existing owners of The Sims 2 won't be entirely left out in the cold, as EA will offer The Sims 2 Holiday Party Pack, essentially just an add-on consisting of the Holiday Edition's extra content, directly through its official site. EA has not yet announced a price for the Holiday Party Pack. For more on The Sims 2, check out GameSpot's full review.

I was told that there will be 3 versions of the Holiday Edition. There will be a combo of holiday items and the base game (the pic presented on this site), a "stuff pack" that will consist of the old items from the 2005 (for those who missed buying the game in 2005) along with new items, and finally a "mini" stuff pack for people who bought the holiday edition in 2005 who want the new items that are included from this year. I could be wrong, but this is the information I was given.

Too bad most don't realise that this is both the Sims 2 and the Holiday Party Pack "combined" as a bundle....based on a lot of the reviews I have read so far on this page.
