The Sims: Vacation holds the lead

EA's latest virtual-life game expansion stays at the top of NPD's latest weekly list of best-selling PC games.

The Sims: Vacation, Electronic Arts' latest expansion pack for its virtual-life game The Sims, held on to first place in NPD Techworld's latest weekly list of best-selling PC games. The expansion pack's retail success comes as no surprise, considering the success enjoyed by the game's previous three expansion packs--The Sims: Livin' Large, The Sims: House Party, and The Sims: Hot Date--and the fact that The Sims itself is now the best-selling PC game of all time. Dungeon Siege, Microsoft's latest action role-playing game, remained in second place for the third week in a row. The game, which was designed by Total Annihilation creator Chris Taylor, lets players control a group of adventurers in a seamless medieval fantasy world. The Sims climbed one spot to third place, followed by LucasArts' latest Star Wars action game, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, which slipped to fourth. The Sims: Hot Date remained in fifth place. Best-selling PC games for the week of April 14-20, 2002:
