New online Sims games revealed
MSNBC posts a Newsweek article containing information about two upcoming online Sims games from Maxis.
MSNBC has posted a story from Newsweek that reveals two upcoming online Sims games from Maxis. The two games are based on the virtual life game The Sims, which sold more than 3 million copies in 2000 to become the best-selling game of the year. The first game, titled Sims Live, is scheduled for release this April. It will be an online instant messenger that includes customizable 3D characters that users can prompt to perform onscreen animations. Maxis also revealed Sims Online, an online version of the virtual life game that will let players compete against one another to become the most powerful, most popular, or richest Sim in the neighborhood. Sims Online is scheduled for release in December.
We contacted Maxis, who confirmed all the information in the Newsweek story but wouldn't reveal any further details. The company representative did suggest that new information about the games may be released sometime in February.
