Ground Control: Dark Conspiracy for Free
Sierra's expansion to the strategy game will be free for owners of the original game.
Sierra Studios has announced that Ground Control: Dark Conspiracy will be given away with every new purchase of the real-time strategy game. It will also be free to owners of the original game who send in the UPC symbol and US$4.95 for shipping and handling. According to Sierra, the decision to distribute the game for free was made in order to give consumers an added incentive to purchase Ground Control. The expansion adds 15 new single-player missions, additional terrain types, a third faction with new playable units, and additional units for both previous factions. It also includes new multiplayer maps and features.
Ground Control: Dark Conspiracy is scheduled for release in November. Details of the mail-in offer can be found at the official Sierra preview.
