First Look: Earth 2150
We've got screens and impressions on an RTS that's all the rage in Europe.
There's a game that's currently creating a lot of hype in Europe: Earth 2150. Developed in Germany, this real-time strategy game is setting the magazines on fire. Comments like "best strategy game of the year" and constant marks around 90 percent indicate that this title could be a blockbuster once it lands on US shores.
Distributed by Mattel/Mindscape and developed by Topware, the title is set for a Q2 release in the States. As of now, we have a handful of screenshots and will soon be following up with an interview with the development team.
The game features true 3D terrain, which means that you'll have to plan things like troops movements very carefully, as explosions and the like can change the landscape dramatically. There are a total of 90 missions and three races available for the player to choose from. Additionally there will be many sub-missions and tasks to complete within the missions themselves. A map editor is also provided, in case players get bored with the maps included in the game.
We'll report further on the game as its US release date approaches. In the meantime, enjoy these shots.
