Civ III expansion patch released

The promised patch for the Play the World expansion is available and is designed to address some multiplayer issues.

Firaxis has released a patch for Civilization III: Play the World that should address some of the problems players have faced with the expansion's online play modes. The version 1.14f update specifically works to fix the matchmaking process via GameSpy Arcade and player-drop crashes, as well as improve overall game speed and lag issues. The update also adds Direct IP multiplayer support. GameSpot Complete members can download the 9MB patch directly from the link below, and it's also available on the Firaxis Web site.
