PCs almost THAWed

Skateboarding master's master sent to duplication; game will ship tomorrow.

Aspyr Media today announced that the PC version of Tony Hawk's American Wasteland has gone gold and is on schedule to ship tomorrow, February 1. The game, licensed for the PC from Activision, was previously released on the Xbox 360, Xbox, PlayStation 2, and GameCube. The game sees would-be thrashers skate around the vast expanse of Los Angeles with no loading times. The mission-based game also includes BMX biking and online play. Tony Hawk's American Wasteland for the PC is rated T for Teen and will retail for $39.99. For more information on the game, read GameSpot's review of the PlayStation 2 version, which fared better than the Xbox 360 version.

I was gonna buy it when I found out my friend (P.Rod) was in it but that bastard allready has enough money plus he ended my Sk8 career with a broken tailbone listening to him back in 97 (when we were in Jr. high)! The tricks in THPS are to rediculus now and Tony has sold out. He's a corporate mascot and in my opinion is way to overated. Im more impressed with Ryan Shekler, Jaime Thomas, Kareem, my boy P.Rod and that One dude that looks like Gordon from Half Life I thinks it's Burnquisc!

American SK8Land is way better anyway (returns almost completely to where THPS3 left off - only with all the improvements and none of the bad things in Wasteland) but perhaps the digital controls can save Wasteland? It's WAY oversensitive with analogs. Only part of its downfall.

Still nice for those who dont like to play their games on consoles.

I used to play THPS3 all the time on the PC, looked better then all the console releases as well.

Only problem is the keyboard controls are horrid to work with, you "need" a dual-analog gamepad to get the most out of it.

Although I must say I also have tired of the THPS formula 2 iterations ago, just nothing really gameplay-wise aside from more arcade-like stunts and no disruptive ingame loading.
