EA Sports music lineup gets its groove on
Hockey, hoops, and NASCAR racer all get final soundtrack courtesy of in-house music division Trax.
With the hire of its current worldwide executive of music and audio Steve Schnur--a former music biz exec who paid his dues at Capitol, Arista, and Elektra Entertainment, among other top studios--in 2001, Electronic Arts intelligently anticipated the benefit that would come from integrating music into the player experience. Now, no publisher worth its share price on the NASDAQ goes without at least one ace music spotter and negotiator hired to police the musical waterfront. Gamers expect top-quality tunes and triple-A bands to complement their virtual exploits, and for the most part, that's what they get.
Today, EA announced soundtracks to three upcoming titles: NBA LIVE 2005, NHL 2005, and NASCAR 2005 Chase for the Cup.
