NBA Live tipping off tourney

In the footsteps of the Madden Challenge, EA's inaugural eight-city NBA Live 07 tournament begins tomorrow in New Jersey.

Nationwide sports-game tournaments are nothing new to Electronic Arts. The publisher has run its Madden Challenge for several years, bringing together some of the country's best Madden NFL players to compete for cash prizes.

Tomorrow, EA officially takes its sports game tournaments beyond the gridiron. The first NBA Live Challenge begins in New Jersey, before hitting seven more cities through early December.

The competition sees gamers going one-on-one against one another on the Xbox version of NBA Live 07. Each region's first-place finisher will be flown to Las Vegas during the NBA All-Star Break for a shot at a grand prize of $50,000.

Registration is limited to 128 contestants per city and is now open on the contest's Web site. A list of each NBA Live Challenge stop is listed below.

lol...NinjaFoot, I agree with you all the way, NBA Live doesn' even come close to 2k7's gameplay. When I first downloaded the demo I said wow..I couldn't believe not just the graphics but the gamplay itself. Each individual player dribbles, shoots, and dunks just like they do in real life. So you know I had to pick up the full version from day one. I think Visual Concepts did a amazing job putting this basketball sim together over the year...its just to bad we can't get NFL2K games anymore...DAMN EA

Id like to watch it just to see the Total BS that happens to the players when the game crappyness reviels itself. I cant wait for someones team go into the dunk animation from half-court and clide to the basket.

Also if your couldent tell i think Live is total garbage this year.

P.S. Live is crap, that is all.

How about an NBA2K7 360 tourney. Now that would be cool. At least they aren't using the 360 version of Live for the tourney though. Ugh. And anyone that makes the claim that Live is better than 2K7 obviously doesn't like a sim style of play. They must like dunkfests, ice skating players, and robotic AI.
