Gathering of Developers has released more details about its upcoming flight simulation Fly! II. The game is in development at Terminal Reality, the studio that created the original Fly!, which was released in late 1999. Fly! II will feature a number of improvements over the previous game, including expanded 3D models, aircraft, and scenery, as well as higher-resolution images. In addition, the game will include improved visual effects, more points of interest, and in-depth tutorials.

The new aircraft featured in the game include the Pilatus PC-12 Turboprop and the Bell 407 helicopter. Several aircraft will be updated as well, including the Beechcraft KingAir twin-engine turboprop, the Cessna Skyhawk single-engine prop, and the Raytheon Hawker business jet. The game will also feature single-player adventures that give players goals and parameters, and then score their performance. Several downloadable adventures will also be available from the Terminal Reality Web site. In addition, extended multiplayer flight parties will give players new emergency situations, weather conditions, and flight patterns.

Fly! II is scheduled for release on both PC and Macintosh platforms this spring. For more information about the game, visit the official Gathering of Developers Web site.
