Gamestock 2001: First look: Flight Simulator 2002

We take a look at the latest installment in the civilian flight sim series. New screens inside.

The next installment of Microsoft's popular Flight Simulator series was shown today at Gamestock in Seattle. Flight Simulator 2002 will feature several improvements over the previous games in the series, including a number of new airplanes such as the Boeing 747-400 and the Cessna Caravan. The Caravan will be available in both standard and amphibious configurations. The game will also feature new scenery and visual effects made possible by Microsoft's new "AutoGen" graphics technology. In addition, Flight Simulator 2002 will feature real-time interactive air traffic control for added realism.
