World of Warcraft beta coming soon
Blizzard announces that it will start accepting sign-ups for its World of Warcraft beta test later this month.
Blizzard has today announced in its official forums that it will start accepting sign-ups for World of Warcraft toward the end of this month, although the only date given for the beta itself is early 2004. The post from Blizzard employee "Katricia" also mentions that the company is in the process of investigating how files from an alpha version of the game came to be leaked onto the Internet after a small group of external testers were allowed into its internal alpha test. She further stated that serious action will be taken against those involved.
World of Warcraft is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game set in the same fantasy world of Azeroth as Blizzard's series of Warcraft real-time strategy games. For more information on World of Warcraft check out our previous coverage of the game.
