Looks cool, but how would I go against a Jedi knight if I am a smuggler? Just a thought, I will play as Jedi anyway.

everything about this game sounds like a success. I don't want to compare this to WoW and cheapen it. A lot of mmo's latley have come out and can't stack up to WoW but looked promising. However this is STAR WARS and Bioware is become very good at it. This is the only one to run head to head with Blizzard, i can feel it. save your money fellow gamer's this is the only one worth your hard earned cash ....as far as mmo's go

to svensweden comments:The light saber in the movie, yes,is like the ultimate weapon,in terms of one swipe and your cut in half...IN THE MOVIE..But this is a game. and weapons have to be balanced in order for it to be fair with the other classes and their weapons and enemies..I personally just love watching it being used.I loved actually seeing the light saber parry the other two guys while fighting focusing on that one guy scene. And there was no button mashing.there was interesting choice battle moves that you get to decide just like in any other RPG.If your disastified in that, then keep waiting for that new format. The format in the games is not the problem..its how they are weighed out against enemies and other players and so on....You calling the game weak makes you sound like an ammature of MMORPG's.From what i saw,the games graphics are superior to WOW and to most RPGs.The combat systems are unprecidented in an mmorpg with the cover system we saw,and the story concepts sound great with the "Unchangable consequences factor" giving you more of a respect and a rush when making a decision in the game.*PLUS,the game has dialogue instead of captions which haunts mmorps.Lucas Arts is like a billion dollar franchise and they know they have WoW to compete with,so you know there's no way they are gonna be lazy on the creation of this game..I have total confidence that this game will be an enormous success.Mark the date.10-6-09

This game looks filled with potential.I like the way the scenary looks, the combat systems for each character seems thought out and made fun,and the story decision consiquinces theme looks cool.Hope its awesome.

i do not care how it looks, bioware always delivers on hard core epic games. at least give it a try, people.

There are certain types of material in the Star Wars universe that can repel a lightsaber, in fact because there are so many jedi and sith fighting during the time period an abundance of armor made from said material probably exists. I think ultra realistic battle damage is the least of anybody's worries when it comes to this game, because it's just not the focal point. Now I think maybe a better physics engine, like the one in the force unleashed, would have been cool to see (even though it's nearly impossible). =P

Hate to admit it, but it looks weak. Same ole' same ole button smashing cool-down norm with even stiffer animation -I know, it's early, but all of them look the same so I'm not too hopeful. What's the biggest crime to me is why every game on the subjects makes light sabers weak as #%^*&%. These are Freakin' LIGHTSABERS, the coolest weapon ever imagined & anything they touch, they destroy. NOT 'take a few hit points away'. It's easy to make a pretty cinimagraphic teaser, but make the combat just as cool & deadly & then I'll get a little hyped.
For the record, the ONLY thing that should block a LS is another LS. PERIOD. And, what's with getting like, oh-I donno, 50+ blaster hits & not making a big deal?
We're hardest on what we love...
    My 2 cents....

This game is the best of all online RPGs even KOTOR is impressive.....come on bioware

  • charlesworth89

    Posted Sep 22, 2009 4:32 am PT

there's a lot of talk about the animations....

I know I for one take my primary enjoyment of an RPG from building the character over time, and exploring the world, I can't say I spend too much time really dissecting the animations, and hopefully they'll tweak them a bit before release.

With animations thrown out I don't really see too much to object about. I'm interested.

It doesn't even look like Knights of Old Republic any more! It look just like galaxies which every knows was a huge failure. I'm not sure, but I'm beginning to think Lucas Arts just wants more money. Even if this game is good I'm still pissed about it loosing its ENITIRE Kotor feel!

Ok, I wish they'd make a like unrated version where you can cut other characters to pieces with the lightsaber (like in Jedi Outcast with the cheats on!)

  • AEAGLEYE

    Posted Sep 17, 2009 6:33 am PT

Hey, does this mean that you can't shoot through cover??
Cause it pisses me off in online rpgs when you get killed by some arrow/bullet/energy bolt (whatever) after you've run around a wall or behind something

So much for action-based combat. I always said I would buy this game if it had a modified version of KotOR's combat and levelling system, ie D&D based. But both combat and levelling here looks to just be your average MMO affair of hotkey mashing. The round system in KotOR made the battles able to be really epic in choreography, but, this is just looking your normal MMO crap. :C

This game looks good. KOTOR was amzing. Hopefully this will live up to its predescessor. The only complaint I have is that I think that they made the character models a little too clunky/cartoony.

SSDD but with Jedi and bounty hunters... nothing excitingly new... I'm not saying it's going to be bad (it's BYOWARE), I'm just saying it's going to be just one more...

I think they are only caring about the star wars movies and they are forgetting the 2 kotors before this one. What about Raven and the Exile? I would only play kotor 3 to know what happened to them when they finally met. And they make a game what, 300 years later to what happened in kotor 1 and TSL? And the clothes? When does Jedi all use armours? Aren't armours a block to force use?
But I still have high hopes for this star wars... So keep up the work

  • Eban8

I'm looking forward to this game more than anything right now. The previous two Kotor games are some of my all time favorites and if you haven't played them yet I seriously suggest that you do.
I just really hope that the unanswered questions in those games will be revealed in Tor.

If they dig in the story and put lot's of contents I'll probably get this game. Didn't like much the animation but it's still to early to have an opinion I think. I just hope they don't try to make it like WoW. It was a good games but it's time to have new features and not just another game like what already been done over and over again. The end really scared me when he said about all the features you get in WoW.

i hope the guys who thought an MMO was a good idea die in a bus to the comic store. then the smart developers can come out of hiding and say what most star wars/ and or RPG fans want the freakin reason we play RPGs and like star wars is cus we have bad socail skills and we dislike our own lives
get a brain bioware i dought i can afford MMO fees.............. in fact i bet most people ages 13 to 9 cant and then people 18 to 30 wont be allowed or have the extra 20$ to 10$ a month

Ok, aside from the fact that the two MC's were complete and total dorks...Im excited about this game as much as anyone. But the fact of the matter is, the animations look a bit...stiff. The way the smuggler ran? His arms dont even move. When they fire the guns, there is no dynamic line of movement, theyre just standing there, stiff as a board. Im more than a bit wary about that; im hoping the animations look more fluid by release. Was also hoping for more of a deviation from the typical MMO button mash/ cooldown style combat. AoC has probably the best, most intuitive, most skill required combat system of any MMO and I was kind of expecting Bioware to build on that premise as well; coming out with something new for MMO combat. I mean, yes, the story arcs, the fully VO'd characters, all of it looks really, really good. But if at the core of the game its no different from WoW or CoH or any other MMO, than its just another MMO with different graphics. So...let the flaming begin.
