Star Wars Galaxies gets Complete collection

Original MMO game, three expansions, bonus DVD land in stores this November for $29.99; extra content includes exclusive in-game item.

Later this year, Star Wars collectors will want to stop working on their dogs' Boba Fett costumes and head down to their local game retailers. LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment have announced that Star Wars Galaxies: The Complete Online Adventures will hit stores this November.

The collection, which will retail for $29.99, includes the massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, as well as the PC game's three expansions--Jump to Lightspeed, Rage of the Wookies, and Trials of Obi-Wan.

However, it's the bonus DVD that's included in the package that will really tempt hardcore Star Wars fans. Gamers who pick up the collection will have access to an exclusive in-game item--the AT-RT, a personal bipedal transport. The DVD will also include a slide show featuring never-before-seen concept art, an excerpt from the SWG book From Pencil to Pixel, and the requisite interviews with the series' development team.

LucasArts and SOE have also promised to keep the game fresh through 2006 and into 2007 with regular content updates and downloadable missions.

Buy it up, kiddies! Get your copy pre ordered so you get your robot walker. Don't worry, they won't do anything shady like shut down servers in the next month. They wouldn't sell a "new" product and do something shady....Um,....Wait......I see a blue glowie Obi Wan on trial for fraud.......

Don't waste money on this game. Since it was dumbed down last November the game was ruined and most players have left. If you spend a lot of time to accomplish something in this game, it will just be all for nothing when the developers decide to revamp it again. SWG is on its last legs, find another MMO to kill time with.

This game's awful, I feel sorry for anyone who wastes money on this new set.

I played both the orignal and retooled versions, and liked neither. The first I disliked because of the economy and the boringness of being new. The fact that I got dumped in a city I didn't want to be in on Tatooine didn't help. All I wanted was a nice little job, some socialising and a speederbike. It would have taken weeks to get the bike, since I hated the missions with a white ho passion. The job I wanted was tangled in at he top of the ill-advised combined skills/proffessions system.

When I played the retooled version, I sort of went "...Ferh...This isn't very Star Wars...These spaceships suck...And why is it so spartan..?" before logging off.

Come on LucasArts, do the decent thing, get another developer to make a new SW MMORPG.
